Andrew Young describes his feelings about the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. and keeping his dream alive
Memphis, TN - In Memphis to take part in a strike organized by Black city workers, King was shot by a sniper while standing on the balcony of the Lorraine Motel. He was thirty-nine years old, a father, a husband and arguably one of the greatest civil rights activist that ever lived. News of his death triggered rioting in over one hundred and twenty-five major cities as Blacks expressed their rage. It took more than four thousand National Guard members to restore order.
