February 29 - Washington, DC - The National Advisory Commission on Civil Disorders, headed by former Illinois governor Otto Kerner, reported that "our nation is moving toward two societies; one back, one white - separate but unequal."   The report also determined that "white racism" was the principal cause of the disturbances that happened across the nation in 1967.
