Cleveland, OH - Racial violence erupted and continued throughout the city and resulted in ten buildings being destroyed by fire, shootings throughout city, fire bombings and looting.
Chicago, IL - More than four thousand National Guard members were called in to stop racial unrest between the Black community and the police.
New York, NY - Black, white and Puerto Rican gangs fought in the streets for almost a week. More than one thousand policemen were called in to end the violence.
Grenada, MS - Black and white protestors clashed as Black students attempted to integrate local schools. Violence lasted for over a month and a number of civil rights organizers traveled to Grenada and got involved to help end the struggle.
