Welcome to the NVLP Teacher Resources area. Here you will find comprehensive lessons, tools for using our website, examples of successful long- and short-term activities, and suggested ways to easily incorporate our materials into your existing lesson plans. Our lessons are designed based upon national education standards in subjects that include history, social studies, language arts, the arts, and media literacy.
Currently, we have three lessons available as part of a Unit on the Civil Rights Movement. We are in the process of developing additional topical, thematic, and biographical lessons based upon our unparalleled collection of videotaped oral history interviews with African American elders--Visionaries--who have made major contributions to American history, culture and society.
Each Visionary has a dedicated web page with links to their biography, video interview excerpts, the full interview transcript, and related web resources.
As we continue to develop our Teacher Resources Area, we want to know what you think. Please CONTACT US to send comments and/or receive our quarterly newsletter. |
