NVLP Search Engine
The NVLP Search Engine provides teachers with another way to find and select text and video material for use in their classrooms. You can search within the NVLP web site to access Visionary web pages, the full transcripts of NVLP interviews, and resource links.
Input Window
Start your search at the Input Window, which can be found at the bottom of the navigation bar on the left side of every web page.
To search for a topic:

Search Results
Your search term will appear in the body of the text below the link. Click on the underlined link to go the Visionary web page or transcript cited.
Visionary Web Pages
A Visionary web page will show up in your search results like this:
Click on the link to go to the Visionary's web page. From there, you can read a biography of the Visionary, choose to view video clips, read the transcript of their interview, or access other resource links.
Transcripts
Transcripts are saved in .pdf format on the NVLP website.Transcripts should open automatically in your browser in Adobe Acrobat Reader. If Adobe Acrobat Reader is not installed on your computer, click here to download it.
To find your search term in context in a transcript, you must search for that term again from within the Adobe Acrobat Reader window.
Look on the Adobe Acrobat toolbar for the “Search” button:

Click it to open a new “Search PDF” window for the Adobe Acrobat Reader: It should look like this when it appears on the right side of the page.

Re-enter the word or phrase for which you are searching. You will receive a list of results with your search term in bold text for each occurrence. Clicking on each result will take you to the exact location of the term in the document.
