NVLP Visionary Leatrice McKissack is
Chief Executive Officer, and co-owner, of McKissack & McKissack,
the oldest African American owned architectural firm in the United States.
Ms. McKissack held an informative roundtable discussion
on concerns vital to women of color in business. Some of the issues
to be addressed include:
- Whos
The Boss? when a minority woman is in-charge, what triumphs
and tribulations does she face?
- Which
career path is better -- climbing the ladder within a corporation
or writing your own ticket as an entrepreneur?
- Who
is modeling leadership in todays business world? How can you
find and get help from these mentors?
- What
racial and gender-based pitfalls await women of color in the workplace?
How can these sidetracks be avoided?
