The 2-hour roundtable includes an intimate, one-on-one conversation with Gregory,
one of NVLPs 2002 National Visionaries, followed by a lively panel discussion
exploring the role of black humor including how far is too far, its impression
on todays pop culture and recent comments from the film "Barber
Shop." Dr. Jannette Dates, dean of Howard Universitys School of
Communications, and young comedian William Toxler, joined Gregory on the
panel. Renee Poussaint moderated.
This roundtable discussion marks the fourth in a series of intimate dialogues
with NVLP National Visionaries and a small, informed intergenerational audience
conducted at NVLP headquarters in Washington, D.C.
