Why is he still
one of only two African Americans elected to the Senate since reconstruction?
Why are there no Black senators today? What kind of strategic political planning
should African Americans be doing right now?
During the first part of the two-hour Roundtable, members of the intergenerational
audience, limited to 20 guests, were able to question Senator Brooke
one-on-one.
In the second part of the Roundtable, he joined a small, but varied group
of panelists, including well known political analyst Professor Ronald Walters,
from the University of Maryland.
This roundtable discussion marks the latest in a series of intimate, intergenerational
dialogues with NVLP Visionary Elders.
All discussions are held at NVLP headquarters (1218 16th Street, NW, Washington,
DC 20036), and are moderated by Renee Poussaint, NVLP Co-Founder and
Executive Director.
